Focusrite Audio Interface No Audio Motherboard Repair
Focusrite had no audio input or output. Opened device and found a short circuit with one component using my thermal camera. I removed the bad component and tested the device with the component removed and the other audio jack worked. The shorted component was causing both input jacks to stop working.
I ordered a new replacement component from eBay and replaced it a few weeks later and all is working again.

    Very impressive. Do you normally do just one jumper?

      Yes only one jumper is needed. I’ve never had issues with the other two jumpers doing it this way and have never had any baseband issues either.

    i notice the difference between the two but I'm just like that, the refresh rate is slightly lower I notice a little light drag when you are swiping across the home screen and the overall tint of the screen is on the more cooler blue side than the original screens. Some people don't mind but I'm just a never satisfied perfectionist

      Codeman785 I like it much better. I believe at some point other brands were tweaking the brightness level on their lcds which would end up causing a short and the lcd would randomly go black. This was the main reason I switched.

      Hi, 380 should be good enough but not all units are the same. I usually set mine 380-420 because I know my burning point already. You can put some flux to help desolder the old button. Make sure your iron is clean. You can use a damp sponge to clean your iron while it is hot.

    Been reading all your comments with Tez or whatever.. I just installed mine last night and love it!! Big learning curve though definitely has some kinks. I'm going to do a video basic tour next week. Dunno how to fix the chimes unless somehow you take something out of the old can bus thing and put it in this can bus thing? Might be software related which = very difficult.. I'll let you know if I find anything.. One question. The talk button on the steering wheel mutes it, I was hoping I could make that the speech recognition.. let me know if you know a fix!

    • @OceaniPhonerepairSanFrancisco
      @OceaniPhonerepairSanFrancisco 7 років тому

      ill do some tests with the talk button on the steering wheel today and find out. I haven't really tested that part yet. I just fixed all the issues I was having (except chime) yesterday by updating software to the Volkswagen version then back to the E90 and it fixed my radio reset issue so I'm super happy with the unit now. I was about to return it but now that its fixed I'm super happy with this unit! just curious what version is your unit right now? mine is @ MCU last 6 digits: 170508 System version: V7.3.1_20170505.100912_KBT

      Cecilia Marbas both are a good option but it depends where you get the screen repaired. I have seen my fair share of really bad aftermarket and OEM screen floating around and a lot of vendors actually market their aftermarket as OEM. Research is key. Look for reviews on the shop you decide on and ask about their warranty, what it covers and the length of their warranty. You want something 6 months or longer. I have seen some OEM and aftermarket screens that start to show signs of defect after a 3-4 month period so you want to stay away from shops with a guarantee less then 6 months.

      Ocean iPhone Repair (by Appointment Only) i have got my phone repaired twice at the same location and the screen doesnt seem calibrated its really hard to type.. should i just try to get a refund and replace elsewhere?

    • @OceaniPhonerepairSanFrancisco
      @OceaniPhonerepairSanFrancisco 7 років тому

      maybe call them and ask about their warranty replacement. if you have the iPhone 6 plus then it could be a touch IC problem and not the screen. but call the place you had it repaired and let them know the situation and hopefully try getting it replaced a third time if its covered under warranty, which it should be.

      Actually, some aftermarket screens are pretty good. Their quality is very close to the original, while the price is the half of the OEM. If you are still searching for some high-quality screens, I recommend screens from Bizbee. www.bizbee.com/
